Watermark PDF

Stamp text such as DRAFT or CONFIDENTIAL across every page of a PDF, with size, colour, opacity and angle options. Runs in your browser.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose a PDF.
  2. Type the watermark text and choose size, opacity, angle and colour.
  3. Select Add watermark.
  4. Download and check the result.

Before you start

A text watermark is a visible label across the page, such as DRAFT or a recipient's name. Choose the wording, size, colour, opacity and angle and the tool stamps every page. It does not prevent copying or editing, so use it for labelling rather than security. For access control, add a password with Protect PDF.

When to use it

Limits

Text only, in a plain Latin font, applied identically to every page; it is drawn over the page and cannot be removed by this tool. Up to 50 MB and 500 pages. Password-protected and already-rotated pages are not supported. A watermark is a visible mark and does not protect a document from copying.

Privacy and file handling

Processed in your browser with pdf-lib. Your PDF is not uploaded.

Troubleshooting

If the text is rejected, remove non-Latin characters. If it hides content, lower the opacity or size.

Frequently asked questions

Does a watermark secure my PDF?

No. It is a visible mark only. It does not stop anyone copying or editing the file.

Can I use an image as a watermark?

Not yet. This tool stamps text only.

Does it fit small and landscape pages?

Yes. The mark is placed relative to each page.
